A central team comprising of Central Nodal Officer, Shri Jai Prakash Pandey, Director, School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education and Technical Officer Sh. Nirmal Kumar Nanda, Scientist-B, CGWB, Nagpur visited Aizawl District, Mizoram, from 29/06/2023 to 01/07/2023 for Pre-monsoon Visit of JSA:CTR 2023.

On June 29, an opening meeting was held with Mr.Isaac C.Lalrempuia, Additional District Collector at Aizawl where an introduction about the Ground Water scenario in the district was given by officers from PHE Department and water conservation activities by other concerned departments.

Extensive field visits were carried out of RTRWHS, check dams, Spring shed, Amrit Sarovars, Soil & Water conservation structures etc. along with officials from PHE Department, Rural Development and Land resources, Soil and Water conservation department within the district.

The departments also exhibited commendable work in constructing water conservation structures like RTRWH, Check dams, Spring development and its final distribution to farmers for irrigation purposes.
